City of St. Petersburg Seeking Public Input at Upcoming Urban Forestry Town Hall Meetings Scheduled for May

May 3, 2024 - The City of St. Petersburg, through the Office of Sustainability and Resilience (OSR) and its St. Pete Forestry program, will be hosting a series of Citizen Forestry Town Halls in May. These meetings will focus on the environmental concerns of St. Pete residents regarding trees. Through a series of interactive community sessions, residents will have the opportunity to voice their opinions and contribute to shaping strategies aimed at addressing key environmental challenges.

The Citizen Forestry Town Halls will utilize live polling and a collaborative group approach to engage residents on various tree-related issues, including the heat island effect, community resilience, and the preservation of the tree canopy. These sessions aim to gather invaluable data directly from residents, providing insights that will inform the development of a comprehensive five-year community education program.

The Citizen Forestry Town Halls will utilize live polling and a collaborative group approach to engage residents on various tree-related issues, including the heat island effect, community resilience, and the preservation of the tree canopy. These sessions aim to gather invaluable data directly from residents, providing insights that will inform the development of a comprehensive five-year community education program.

Interested residents are requested to RSVP for one of the scheduled community sessions using the provided links, which are segmented based on availability dates in May. With limited spaces available, reservations will be capped at the first 50 residents for each session. Additionally, for residents unable to attend in May, alternative sessions may be arranged in June to accommodate interest and demand.
